Depression: Avoiding Despair in Difficult Times (2 Part Audio)

Cost: $6.99
Depression is a hopeless response to a problem (often a very tough problem). If can often lead to a person giving up and stopping the race that the Lord has set before them. The Apostle Paul at one point experienced such feelings of hopelessness (2 Cor 1:9) in the face of great perplexities. In this session you will discover eight factors that cause or contribute to a growing despair. Identifying these is the beginning of helping you or those you counsel not only avoid the line of despair, but spiral out of the despair. This is one session out of twenty-three sessions in the course entitled, "Change That Sticks", which is Track 1 of the ACBC certified biblical counseling training of the Lowcountry Biblical Counseling Center. How do you give Biblical help and hope to the depressed?  It begins by helping them see their problem not only as what they are experiencing, but how they are responding.  Our emotions, whether happy or sad, are not only based on our physical condition but more so our spiritual condition.  Conditioning our perspectives, desires and beliefs with the promises of God are vital to sustaining perseverance in trial and spiraling out of depression.  Come learn how the prophet Jeremiah, Apostle Paul and King David spiraled out of their despair through the process of spiritual renewal.
